Beginner Guide: Your First Clean Run

Learn the pickup loop, shelf codes, floor map, sorting habits, and first-run priorities.

Read before you run

Clean The Library rewards recognition more than frantic movement. Every scattered book belongs to a themed shelf section. Pick it up, read the category or spine, and use the floor map before walking across the building. The classic map has ten sections on Floor 1 and six on Floor 2. A quick lookup prevents the most common beginner mistake: carrying a full stack to the wrong floor.

On PC, use E or click to pick up and place, Q to drop, the scroll wheel to change the top book, and right click to zoom. Controller players use RT, B or O, LT, and the D-pad. These controls come from the official Roblox description.

Work one zone at a time

Do not collect random books from every category. Choose a nearby section, gather matching themes, and finish easy rows before expanding. Keep a small sorting pile near a predictable landmark so you do not lose books inside the visual clutter. In co-op, agree on floor or role ownership before everyone starts moving.

Use the shelf lookup when a category is unfamiliar. Broad categories are enough: Horror goes to 1H, Anime to 2B, and Economy or Trading to 1I. If the exact title is not indexed, search the theme printed on the book rather than the title.

Treat upgrades as time savers

Community references consistently identify Assemble, Sort, Insight, Shelf Guide, and Auto-Shelving as the main abilities. Exact unlock costs are not yet verified, so this guide does not invent a point schedule. Early priorities should remove your biggest bottleneck: collection movement, mixed stacks, or mistake finding.

When a shelf looks complete but does not register, stop adding random books. Check volume order, wrong-category books, and missing volumes first. The troubleshooting guide gives a repeatable audit sequence.
